On June 14, 1916, MIT commemorated its move to Cambridge from Boston with a banquet in Symphony Hall. Approximately 1,500 alumni gathered and connected via a transcontinental telephone circuit with alumni clubs in 34 other US cities. Alumni in Taiwan, Chile, and other countries sent telegrams. Since the MIT Alumni Association was founded 150 years ago, the number of clubs and alumni groups has expanded to more than 200 across the globe. Read more about the MITAA’s history: bit.ly/4dUHWSn
