So somebody asked me why Shamus from Synapse wouldn't run on the C64 Ultimate from a G64 image. Perfect flux-level copy, right? Should work. Except... it didn't. And then it got WEIRD.
Turns out Synapse Software built something nastier than a simple protection check — mount it wrong, and the game wipes itself. On purpose. Right in front of you.
The fix is stupidly simple once you know it, and it says a LOT about how these old protections actually worked.
