I love my secular life, but it's hard to argue that it's filled to the brim with meaning. As trite as this sentiment has become, our tech has left too many of us—myself very much included—feeling isolated, distracted, and apathetic. Many of us live in a post-religious age, and our modern communities no longer support us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But with this book, The Power of Ritual, Casper ter Kuile brings a hopeful (and potentially profound) new message: we might not be religious, but that doesn’t mean we are any less spiritual.
This book is absolutely fantastic. Easy 5-star. One of the better audiobooks I've listened to ... ever. Can't recommend it enough. If you have days where you struggle to find meaning in your life—especially in the everyday, mundane things you do—this book could do wonders for you. It's done so for me.
