This week on Aussie Garage, we check out an absolutely stunning 1968 Dodge Charger powered by a 440 Big Block V8, beautifully restored after being saved from a seriously rough and rusty starting point.
Sam takes us through the full story behind this incredible Mopar muscle car, from extensive rust repairs and bodywork to the fresh black paint, rebuilt driveline, upgraded brakes, restored trim and classic Magnum wheels. What makes this build even better is that so much of the work was done at home over 2.5 years, proving that passion, patience and hard work can bring an iconic classic back to life.
Under the bonnet sits a tough 440 Big Block, backed by a 727 transmission, 8 3/4 diff, alloy heads, high-rise manifold, lumpy cam and all the right gear to make this Charger a powerful but street-friendly cruiser. Inside, the car keeps that classic feel with a beautiful retrim, original-style dash, pistol shift and heaps of genuine old-school Mopar charm.
