Weekly Catch-up:
Ray wrapped up his time at the Great Salt Lake and shares the last of his photos from there. He is now at Grand Teton National Park and hopes to start photographing wildlife there. The guys discuss how they try to think differently with subject and locations they have worked at for a long time. Ray connects that to an American Dipper family he photographed during his time in Utah and how he was able to turn the knowledge he learned into capturing a unique split-level photo of a Dipper with his underwater housing. Brad talks about his recent out with his daughter which was her first time photographing song birds. Though they didn’t have many they had an incredible encounter with a White-throated Sparrow which they both shot a wider scene showing off the foggy conditions and beautiful perch. Brad also talks about his approach this year for the Song Bird session and being more opened to focusing on different birds or trying to photograph the common ones in new unique ways. Brad finishes off by showing his most recent outing where he had many more spring arrivals and took the opportunity to use his donut bokeh lens with the White-throated Sparrows; though frustrating he came away with some great images.
