Overview
Looking for the perfect hotel near Fresno Yosemite International Airport or a convenient stop before your Sequoia National Park adventure? In this video, I review the brand-new Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fresno Airport, which had only been open for two weeks when I filmed this!
Whether youre flying in or just planning a road trip, this hotel is an excellent choice. It’s a quick 4-minute drive from the airport and offers a complimentary shuttle service for drop-offs and pick-ups, so you dont need a rental car immediately.
If you’re driving an EV, youll appreciate the multiple charging stations on-site. Families will love the relaxing pool, which is perfect for letting the kids unwind while you finalize your travel plans.
I’ll also give you a full tour of my room, which featured two comfortable queen beds. Free breakfast is included, and you have to try the cinnamon rolls—the host recommended them, and they were one of my favorites!
For dining, I recommend two nearby spots:
Sizzler: Its not just a classic salad bar anymore! Sizzler revamped its vibe in 2020, and I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the steaks and all the new salad bar options.
Ono Hawaiian BBQ: This is a great spot for a quick and delicious meal.
Need to stock up on supplies before heading to the park? There’s a Walmart Supercenter nearby for all your last-minute needs. While theres a local market in Three Rivers, Walmart usually has more choices and better prices.

![Why Your US Claw Machine Skills DONT Work in Japan (Our #1 Tip!)
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: You play claw machines in the US. Why were you so defeated in Japan? A: Ha! Yes, we were totally defeated. I learned that the machines work completely differently. In the US, the claws are programmed to grab extra tight after a certain number of attempts to guarantee a payout. In Japan, thats not the case. The claw always loosens its grip, so you have to expect the toy to drop.
Q: So, if the claw always drops the toy, how do you win? A: The whole strategy is different. Youre not supposed to pick it up and carry it. The real goal is to plan for the drop. You have to use multiple attempts to just nudge or move the toy closer and closer to the edge until you can finally flip it into the drop zone.
Q: I see people in Japan talking to the staff. What are they doing? A: Thats a great tip I noticed, too. I saw the local players ask the staff to reset the toys all the time. It seems like they do it as soon as they realize the toys position will take too much effort or money to win.
Q: What was that giant arcade you were in? A: That was a multi-story GIGO (formerly SEGA) arcade. We were just walking from the train station on our way to Sunshine City, and it was right in front of us! It was one of the biggest claw machine stores Ive ever seen, and the quality of the prizes was really good. Ill be sure to leave the location in the description.
Q: Did you ever end up winning anything? A: Yes, thankfully! [Laughs] After we spent almost our entire budget, my daughter did finally get something at the end, so the strategy can work!.
SUMMARY:
In this video, I take you through my epic (and humbling) adventure with claw machines in Japan. Despite having tons of experience with claw machines in the US, I was 99% by not understanding the mechanics of how claw machines differ in Japan compare to the US.
Watch as I share my fail attempts and discover how the game strategy is completely different between the two countries. In the USA, each machine has its own payout schedule, tightening the claw for an easy grab every so often. But in Japan, the challenge lies in the claw loosening after it retracts, requiring players to strategically plan the drop path to eventually flip the toy into the bin.
Join me on this fun and (a bit) frustrating journey, and learn the differences that make Japanese claw machines a unique and challenging experience! Dont forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more gaming adventures and tips!
