I was just finishing my Let's Stream of Thief 2: The Metal Age on the Normal difficulty setting. My internet took a huge @#$%!!! and the stream went down. Funny that should have happened when it did, you see I had gotten myself into some trouble, Brother Murus Style.
You know, doing stunts when your climbing buildings or fighting the undead and you had the chance to get it all set up ahead of time...that's one thing. What about getting yourself back out of trouble when you were a goofus and got yourself deep into it by being silly? Why not be just as tenacious about solving those kind of problems? How much do I really want Garrett to live? How much of a Thief am I? How much of a Taffer am I?
In lieu of another stream, this video will serve as the capstone to my Thief 2 on Normal campaign. It serves to verify that I did make it out of Soulforge alive (just barely) and I finished the game. The patch I used this time had both Thief 2: The Metal age and Thief Gold all kinds of messed up. I am presently reinstalling both, and going forward I am going to have to very carefully reexamine how and to what extent I am going to patch these first two Thief games.
We may be all the way back at 4:3 and 800x600, if that's what it takes for me to feel that the Thief I am playing has not been inappropriately adulterated.
