Welcome back to another full playthrough on LonePC. Today we are checking out The Thing Beneath, and this one perfectly captures that classic 80s slasher movie aesthetic. The setup is exactly what you would expect from the genre: a group of teens take a boat out to an abandoned island to party, hang out, and relax. But since this is a PSX-style psychological horror game, the chill vibe does not last long at all.
The atmosphere takes a massive turn, and the game quickly shifts from a laid-back hangout to pure survival horror. I really appreciated how this game built up the tension before dropping the terrifying reality of what is actually on the island with them.
We are doing a complete, uncut run of the game today from start to finish to see the entire story unfold. Grab some snacks, turn the lights down, and let's see who actually makes it off the island alive.
