Russell reacted to reports that outdoor field trials dimming sunlight, potentially through injecting aerosols into the atmosphere, could be approved by the government within weeks. He admitted he doesn't know enough about ecology to say for certain how much human industry is impacting the environment, but he was far more certain about something else entirely. Russell argued that anyone claiming they can help you by literally blocking out the sun is operating from a place that has nothing to do with genuine care for humanity. Some solutions sound so extreme they answer their own question.
