My feels:
My older cat (Shadow) passed away on the weekend. She had cancer for almost two years so I was prepared and accepted that there wasn't anything I could do to change it. What's getting to me is that every little thing that pops into my head reminds me of her. I can't feed my kitty (Neko) without looking over at where Shadow's bowl used to be. I get home from work and expect to see her waiting at the door to be fed. Neko wanders around the house meowing for her. How do you explain to a kitty that her friend isn't coming home? Then I think about all the stupid little things that she used to do that I didn't even know I would miss until now. Losing a relative is hard but losing a pet seems worse. I know eventually, everything will be okay again but right now it just hurts.
My favourite animal is a penguin. They look like they are wearing tuxedos. The way shadow's fur was, it always looked like she was wearing a tuxedo too. I can't even look at my million stuffed penguins without being reminded of her. I'm crying like a baby now but I really needed to vent and typing is easier than talking.
Kris, I'm sorry, you're probably crying now too. I love you! ♥
