🌺🌺"They Gave You His Name" - a narrative song based on my encounter with 'Joe' at the North Shore Hospice in the 1990s. A war veteran who bore a heavy responsibility for his whole life since being named after his uncle who died 'a hero' at Gallipoli. Joe became the only survivor of a platoon he led in WW2. After a difficult few days of pain and restlessness, he told me this story and he died peacefully the next day. Fitting for Anzac Day I felt. 🌺🌺
