The United States celebrates its 250th anniversary this weekend, and Native Americans in Arizona spoke out on what the day means to them.
“We're at the point now where we're finally recognizing our historical trauma placed on us by the United States and their policies and how it affects us today and we're moving forward,” said powwow announcer Erny Zah. “So while Happy Birthday America, 250th, there's also the recognition that, you know, there is a time when the United States was the conqueror.”
