As my Run Around Australia edges towards the finish line, I want to pause and celebrate the incredible humans who’ve inspired me to take on — and enjoy — this massive feat🙌
These legends put their mind, body and soul to the ultimate test and showed me what’s possible when passion meets purpose:
🏃♂️ Pat Farmer — 14,500 km in 195 days (1999). Fastest run around Australia at the time, averaging 80 km/day. @patfarmerathlete
🏃♀️ Sarah Mycroft — 15,000 km across 260 days (2010–2014). First woman to circumnavigate Australia, with her children alongside her.
🏃♀️ Deborah De Williams — 18,026 km in 408 days (2009–2011). Raising awareness for cancer.
🏃♂️ Sean Bell — 13,383 km in 158 days (2023). Averaged 84.4 km/day for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
🏃♂️ Nedd Brockmann — 3,953 km in 46 days (2022). Perth to Bondi, raising nearly $1M for homelessness. @neddbrockmann
🏃♂️ Lambros Brothers — 3,331 km in 100 days. Across Australia for cancer research. @lambrosarmy
🏃♂️ Chris Turnbull — 3,856 km in 39 days. Fastest Perth to Sydney crossing at the time.
@turnbull_express
🏃♂️ William Goodge — 3,800 km in 35 days. Averaged 110 km/day, raising funds for cancer in honour of his mum. @williamgoodge
🏃♀️ Fran Hurndall — 3,800 km in 60 days. Perth to Sydney, raising awareness for domestic and family violence support. @franhurndall
Every one of these endurance feats fuelled my belief that the human spirit has no limits💙
Here’s to finishing strong — not just for me, but for the movement we have created while being out here Running Around Australia, impacting our nation to have JUST ONE MORE conversation around their Mental Health💙🤟🏃♀️🇦🇺✨
