Most end-of-year awards miss the students who need to be seen the most.
So instead of perfect attendance and highest GPA… I started doing this.
Every year, I create a custom award ceremony for my class—celebrating the quiet MVPs, the comeback stories, the kids with main character energy, and the ones who carried the group project when nobody else would.
The prizes? Ridiculous.
Dollar store finds. Thrift shop treasures. The weirdest stuff I can find.
But here’s the thing… those are the awards kids remember forever.
