Carl Trueman spoke to us about how the sentence “I’m a woman trapped in a man’s body” has come to make “sense” to those who prioritise feelings of reality over reality itself. What we will see over the next decade, Carl told us, is an increased push to normalise transgenderism. The levers of cultural influence are all in the hands of those who have no interest in promoting traditional marriage, he said.
Katy Faust told us about her book and organisation of the same name, Them Before Us. All of the studies really are on our side; but what we haven’t had until now, Katy said, are the stories. Marriage is the most child-friendly institution the world has ever known. It unites the two people to whom the child has a natural right, and it unites them for life. The social science is clear, Katy told us: biology matters, gender matters and marriage matters. Kids should not be the acceptable sacrifice on the altar of so-called “progress”.
Balázs Molnár led the development of Hungary’s pro-marriage policy that is already reaping dramatic results. He talked about wanting to build a pro-family alliance in Europe and the world. To tackle demographic downshifts, he said, the Hungarian constitution was amended to protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman, and family as the basis of the survival of the nation. Balázs told us about the significant Government support for married couples who want to have children – including in the tax system.
