On November 25, 2024, 10-year-old Theo made his official WFDF world record attempt at Citadel Park School in Calgary.
Theo uses a wheelchair and had spent months practising his throwing technique, working with me, his classmate James, and the staff at his school to see how far he could throw a flying disc.
With his classmates and teachers there to cheer him on, Theo threw 8.23 metres (27 feet) to establish the WFDF U11 Boys Wheelchair Distance world record.

What made the day special wasn’t only the distance. It was seeing Theo take on something difficult, keep working at it, and have his entire school community rally around him.
