The Wall Street Bombing took place at noon on September 16, 1920, when a horse-drawn wagon packed with explosives and heavy metal weights detonated outside the headquarters of J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York City's financial district. The blast killed 38 people and injured more than 300 others, making it one of the deadliest acts of terrorism in American history at the time. The explosion shattered windows for blocks, ripped through crowds of workers on their lunch break, and left Wall Street looking like a battlefield.
