Let your product shine in the theme the user decides to use. No need for the Parameters.get() API, or being part of the UI5 distribution build. In this talk, we show how you can use the CSS custom properties of SAPs theming parameters to make your product look good in all themes.
You will see what benefit being themable has for your product, and what others have done in the past to create themable products. And with modern CSS it has become so easy. We show how you can include a single CSS “skeleton” – the actual rules that apply custom properties to elements – in your product, and how you can use modern CSS, especially the custom properties of SAPs theming parameters, to cater for all your design needs.
That includes CSS recipes for direct parameter mapping, derived parameter usage (lighten/darken/contrast/…), scope-sensitive parameters, and even theme-specific rules. You’ll also see where you can find all those theming parameters, and decide which fit your situation best. In the end you’ll have a clear picture of how your product can be themed, by having a CSS skeleton that applies the custom properties of SAPs theming parameters to your elements.
