Yin-yang which can be literally translated "dark-light" or thought of as "negative-positive" is a Chinese philosophical concept that describes how apparently opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the cosmos, and how they often give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
The symbol representing Yin and Yang is black and white. Since I was able to acquire some white flip tiles, and I have a clock with black tiles, I decided to make a flip clock that resembled the yin-yang symbol.
