Kevin Smith wrote some of Marvel's greatest comics. Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire and Brimstone isn't one of them. If this is the comic Marvel trusted to hand Kevin Smith before its massive Star Wars crossover, fans have every reason to be worried.

Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire and Brimstone #1 should have been a celebration of two of Marvel's biggest icons and one of the publisher's most recognizable writers. Instead, it delivers painfully unfunny dialogue, endless puns, inconsistent characterization, and a story that never seems to know whether it wants to be a Spider-Man comedy, a Hulk psychological drama, or a religious allegory.
