Shortly after the launch of the new console the Switch 2, mysterious footage of games beginning to run in a modified version of a Switch 1 emulator began appearing. Shortly after news of this broke, I could tell something was up and I began researching this.
In this video I will be going over a recent hoax in the gaming scene, how it works behind the front end, and what exactly is this piece of potential malware being circulated by some.
Featuring technical breakdowns and reverse engineering, along with an interview with one of the minds that created the hoax, I explain how it worked on a technical level, and why it was created.
