Overview
At what point in our lives do we adults forget to play? Potential stories exist everywhere around us for Montreal creative duo Julien Vallée and Eve Duhamel — perhaps that is why they are able to uniquely combine surprising and complex narratives, art direction, design, and hand-manipulated objects with production techniques.
This talk will reveal how unlocking the potential within everyday objects and situations unveils a rich tapestry of stories and unique perspectives waiting to be discovered, and how it’s always been a base for the work that Julien and Eve do.

Julien Vallée
Visual storyteller, Vallée Duhamel Montréal, Canada
United by a shared fascination with turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, Julien Vallée and Eve Duhamel (of Vallée Duhamel) see the world as a giant playground.
In their work, Vallée Duhamel craft whimsical and unrealistic scenarios across various mediums like video and installation. Characters find themselves in spaces that challenge the norm, adapting and behaving in delightfully unexpected ways. The duo’s goal? To inject fun and surprise into the everyday.
Julien will be sharing their approach that goes beyond the conventional, allowing the mind to make connections where logic might hesitate. In a society grounded in common sense, Julien will invite you to explore another angle, to break free from the expected.
