The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just got a MASSIVE new update, as CD Projekt Red officially revealed a full REMASTER of the legendary RPG alongside our first look at an entirely new story expansion bringing Geralt back for one final adventure. The Witcher 3 Remastered will be a FREE upgrade for existing owners and completely overhauls the game with upgraded visuals, new textures and rendering, advanced path tracing, improved foliage, revamped Signs effects, better horse handling, updated AI, an expanded Photo Mode, new animations and finishers, improved camera and targeting systems, and a completely revamped ability system. In this video, we're reacting to and breaking down the brand-new Witcher 3 Remastered trailer before jumping into the reveal of Songs of the Past, a completely new expansion being developed alongside Fool's Theory and veteran Witcher 3 developers that will serve as Geralt's final adventure before the series passes the torch to Ciri. The expansion introduces an entirely new region filled with quests, monsters, exploration and a mysterious dark secret, while Geralt is also getting a new chain weapon inspired by the original Witcher 1 intro. Even crazier, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are becoming FREE for everyone who owns the base game, with the remaster's improvements extending across the previous expansions and Songs of the Past when it arrives next year. After more than a decade with The Witcher 3, I genuinely can't believe we're getting another reason to return to one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and if this really is Geralt's final adventure before The Witcher 4 moves the franchise forward with Ciri, this looks like one hell of a way to send him off.
