The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just revealed nearly 15 MINUTES of new Songs of the Past gameplay, giving us our best look yet at Geralt’s final adventure, its beautiful new open-world region, remastered visuals, new monsters, updated combat effects, and the brutal chain weapon inspired by the original Witcher cinematic. The expansion takes place after Geralt’s attempted retirement at Corvo Bianco and brings him to Lettenhove, the birthplace of Dandelion, where a seemingly peaceful celebration quickly leads him into another mysterious adventure. In this video, we’re reacting to and breaking down the full Gamescom 2026 gameplay overview, which showcases everything from bright countryside villages and British-inspired castles to dark forests, new characters, updated UI elements, improved lighting, enhanced visual effects, and a living open world designed to gently guide players through the story while still rewarding exploration. We also get our first real combat showcase against a terrifying new creature, complete with unique attack patterns and Geralt’s long-awaited chain weapon, which replaces the crossbow and allows players to slow down time, target enemy weak points, drag monsters closer, separate groups, control crowds, and unleash vicious executions—including a full-on beheading. Songs of the Past is bringing back veteran Witcher 3 developers alongside Fool’s Theory, and while this showcase focused more heavily on the world and developer commentary than uninterrupted combat, seeing Geralt back on Roach and exploring an entirely new region more than a decade after The Witcher 3 originally launched feels unreal. What do you think about the new Songs of the Past gameplay, Geralt’s chain weapon, and everything shown from The Witcher 3 Remastered?
