The Monterey International Pop Festival was a three-day music festival held June 16–18, 1967, at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. The festival is remembered for the first major American appearances by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Who, and Ravi Shankar, the first large-scale public performance of Janis Joplin, and the introduction of Otis Redding to a mass American audience.

"My Generation" is a song by the English rock band the Who, written by guitarist and primary songwriter Pete Townshend, from their debut album of the same name (1965). It was released as a single on 29 Oct 1965, reaching number two in the United Kingdom (their highest-charting single in their home country with 1966's "I'm a Boy") and number 74 in the United States. The song also appeared in greatly extended form on their live album Live at Leeds (1970).
