The Whiskey Tribe does some super cool stuff, and this re-distilled 15 year old whiskey from Crowded Barrel Co is no exception. I was super excited to get my hands on a bottle of this clear whiskey (that is NOT moonshine). It's weird... super, super weird.

Also, trying this bottle is a really good opportunity to scratch the surface of the differences between distilled spirits. What is whiskey made of? Grains... but then again, so are some vodkas. So what makes each spirit different from each other? In the case of whiskey, it has a lot to do with the aging process. That long exposure to wood imparts flavor and texture and turns what would otherwise be a neutral grain distilled spirit into the brown nectar we all know and love.
