Episode 393:
ℹ️ The finish line is getting close.
In this episode, we walk from Monterotondo toward Monte Sacro on the second-to-last day of our pilgrimage through Italy. After all the miles, climbs, heat, and unexpected adventures, it feels good to slow down and simply enjoy the walk.
The route takes us through the beautiful Sabina countryside, with olive groves, vineyards, farmland, and plenty of locked gates to keep things interesting. Mostly flat and wonderfully scenic, this is one of those days when we aren’t in a hurry — and that’s exactly how a pilgrimage should feel.
Then comes a moment we’ve been waiting for: our first glimpse of Rome, with the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica appearing in the distance.
As we make our way toward Monte Sacro, we also experience a very Roman slice of everyday life with a walk through a fresh market.
Just one more day to go.
