Episode 390:
ℹ️ Day 3 on the Via di Francesco brought a different kind of challenge—steady heat, long miles, and a day that unfolded a little differently than expected.
We started the morning divided into two groups: one taking on a shorter distance, and the other going for a longer stretch on the trail. With the heat wave continuing across the region, pacing and planning became everything… including the surprisingly difficult task of finding a bathroom along the way.
At one point, a missed turn had part of the group briefly off route, adding a little extra mileage to an already warm day. (And yes… the question was raised—should Brian be fired as a hike leader?)
Most of the group made it to the agriturismo just in time to cool off at the pool but a powerful thunderstorm rolled through. A few hikers were still out on the trail during the storm and were safely assisted back by taxi—an unexpected reminder of how quickly conditions can change out here.
Once the skies cleared, the day ended on a lighter note… with one big question: was Michelle really the only one willing to jump in the pool?
