What happens when the only way to continue believing something is to ignore the evidence that contradicts it? In this episode of Watchtower Examination, I explore a powerful question inspired by YouTube commenter Tompson Rogerio Vieira and examine why that question could force even a determined Jehovah’s Witness to confront an uncomfortable dilemma. We’ll look at the current crisis facing the Watchtower organization, its repeated warnings to Jehovah’s Witnesses to reject or avoid outside information, and a striking example of how defenders of the organization can dismiss evidence by simply selecting one Watchtower statement while ignoring contradictory evidence produced by the Watchtower itself. Finally, I’ll present a statement from the Watchtower’s own literature explaining how Jehovah exposes false messengers through their failed predictions—and invite Jehovah’s Witnesses to honestly examine the organization’s failed expectations surrounding 1914, 1915, 1918, 1925, and 1975.
