How could rock ever be played out with a band like The Warning at the helm of the genre? It’s not just that the sister trio from Monterrey, Mexico bring fresh perspective to the white, male-dominated landscape. It’s also the fact that, since screaming into nominative existence with 2017’s ‘XXI Century Blood’ and ‘Queen of the Murder Scene’ the following year, evolution and authenticity has been at the crux of their craft. For starters, Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal are total players. Check the bass riff that kicks off “Dust to Dust” for instance. It’d make Steve Harris blush. 2022 album ‘ERROR’ traded turnt-up arrangements for more subtle guitar styles, clearing out room for Daniela to really shout from the chest.
