ABOUT THIS MESSAGE
Out of the same mouth comes both blessing and cursing. We have mastered the second and neglected the first. This message uncovers one of the most overlooked practices in all of Scripture: the literal, spoken blessing declared out loud over another person, on purpose. 🔥
Every home, classroom, dorm, and church carries an atmosphere. Words of blessing create fertility, an environment of growth, life, and increase. Words of cursing, even spoken in jest, create sterility that corrupts the very environment it lands in. Your words can minister or massacre, build a child up or tear a child down.
Scripture is full of fathers blessing sons, mothers blessing daughters, and elders blessing the generation behind them. Rebekah's family spoke a blessing over her before she left home, and she became the mother of millions. Ruth received a blessing as an outsider with no pedigree and became the great grandmother of Jesus. God gave His people words to speak over their children by name, on a rhythm, not a ceremony. And Jesus Himself took little ones into His arms and blessed them. 🙌
