Imagine standing in the Garden of Eden on the darkest day in human history. The air is heavy with shame as Adam and Eve have just rebelled against God’s directive. It seems the serpent has succeeded. Death has entered. The relationship with God is broken. Judgment is about to fall. But then, in the middle of the curse, God turns not to the Adam or to Eve, but to the serpent, and speaks the most hope-filled words the world had ever heard. “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
In our time together today I am going to uncover what many scholars refer to as the foundational prophecy of the entire Bible, and show you the very first prophecy in the Scriptures.
