The Vendettas were a very short-lived Austin punk/new wave band that managed to release a 7" single with a pick-up drummer before disappearing into obscurity. Dick Ross joined the band on the skins for a short while before the band called it quits. He then moved on to F-Systems before joining Joe "King" Carrasco's band for many years. .
Though the band wasn't embraced by the Austin punk scene, The Vendettas still made waves with their song "Atheist Rock" which tells a tale of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, who was the most hated woman in America at the time. When the band split, singer Alan Goldin moved on to another short-lived group called the Hormoans before relocating to New York. The other members of the band, Rusty Keith and Steve Gotesky, have stayed active in the Austin music scene.
