This is the Van Halen lick EVERYONE should know! If you learn this one, you can become an alternate picking GOD. I first heard Eddie use this phrasing concept in Spanish Fly, but you've also heard Paul Gilbert use it in Technical Difficulties. LOTS of shredders use this lick, but why?
