The United States and its allies, Canada and the EU, have carried out a 20 year assault on the legitimate government of Venezuela. María Páez Victor explains how and why this is happening and how Venezuelans have successfully resisted this pressure.
Maria Páez Victor is a sociologist, born in Venezuela and educated in Caracas, New York, Mexico City, and Canada. For several years she taught the sociology of health and medicine as well as health and environmental policies at the University of Toronto. Maria has national and international experience in policy analysis and impact assessment, with expertise in the areas of health, environment, and energy. Now retired from teaching, Maria writes and is a frequent commentator on issues related to Latin American history and politics. She has participated in numerous events on TV, radio and in public meetings. In addition, she has her own weekly radio program about Venezuela in the Spanish language community radio of Toronto.
