This event, taking place the day after the US presidential inauguration, will give attendees a chance to engage in critical dialogue on how the US can navigate complex global challenges, and the country’s evolving role in an interconnected world.
The discussion will focus on issues such as the US-China relationship, unpacking how diplomatic, trade, and economic policies could reshape global power dynamics. We’ll examine the new administration's stance on climate change, exploring how the likely lack of international cooperation might influence environmental policy, innovation, and global resilience efforts.
Economic security, too, will be central to the discussion, covering the direction that the new administration plans to take with respect to trade policy and any impacts from a predicted unravelling of global economic governance. Lastly, we’ll explore shifts in international law, particularly how the US will approach institutions and alliances to uphold—or redefine—multilateral norms around human rights and the use of force.
