Jan and Dale Foster's six-year-old son, Cody, begins conversing with an unsettling imaginary friend he calls "Man." At first, they dismiss it as a harmless phase, but as weeks pass, Cody's behavior takes a sinister turn. His outbursts and chilling remarks lead Jan to suspect that "Man" is no ordinary imaginary friend but something far more malevolent. Desperate to save her family, Jan seeks the help of a Native American shaman to cleanse their home of the dark presence. Though the ritual appears successful, their relief is short-lived. Three months later, Cody's demeanor shifts again, plunging the family into a new level of terror as the true nature of "Man" begins to reveal itself.
