Step onto the tram and travel back to 2004 to witness a legendary, permanently lost masterpiece of theme park history! This is a full, uncut archive of the iconic "King Kong Encounter" on the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, beautifully preserved from August 05, 2004.
Originally debuting in 1986 and designed by legendary Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr, this attraction was a triumph of practical engineering. The experience trapped your tram on a crumbling suspension bridge in the middle of a chaotic New York City, putting you face-to-face with a massive, 30-foot-tall audio-animatronic King Kong. This vintage 2004 POV perfectly preserves the incredible animatronic movements, the roaring sound design, the helicopter crash effects, and the classic atmosphere before the entire show building was tragically destroyed in the infamous 2008 Universal backlot fire.
If you miss the original practical-effects era of Universal Studios, remember smelling Kong's banana breath, or love defunct ride history, hit that Subscribe button and turn on notifications for more amusement park time capsules! ๐ฆ๐ฌ๐ฅ
