Throughout the many years, its become abundantly clear just how important a map design is to the many facets of a game. Reinforcing the Gameplay, Visual themes, Writing and room for further creative endeavors. Yet in recent years, it seems map design has become something of an afterthought, being not as effective or memorable as they once was. With a new generation of gamers abound, the belief of open world map being better has started to surface amidst waves of new open world games. So for this, we are looking into several examples, old and new to see what every game does right and wrong with their map.
