Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 gives you 6 different clans to choose from, each having an entirely different playstyle and sort of clan personality/reputation that gives unique dialogue options and replies from characters specific to that clan.

Your clan also has various abilities that are important for combat. Some of the other clans abilities can be purchased a bit later after progressing the story but your clan abilities come much cheaper, much earlier and you have a passive ability unique to that clan.
