This video is a heavily commentated recording of a training session teaching a brand new player the basics of Air Combat. Veteran players may find it useful as a teaching guide for their own training ideas.
This training session is split into 2 parts; Dogfighting and Boom and Zoom. The main objective of this 2 part training session is to identify all the basic skills and mechanics that a new player needs to know and understand. This training session is not supposed to be 100% comprehensive on all air combat tactics/maneuvering. It is supposed to serve as a beginner primer.
Part 1: Dogfighting
Purpose of this section is to demonstrate air combat maneuvering and basic energy usage. Conducted through 3 rounds of duelling the Instructor can demonstrate and teach multiple different aspects of air combat such as utilising the different planes of motion to get angles on an opponent (The Egg) or how to make the correct moves/countermoves in a dogfight.
Part 2: Boom and Zoom
The purpose the second section is to demonstrate the usage and reading of energy states and how to use energy more effectively in air combat.
