Last year, we followed our Medical Entomology and Zoonoses Team out of the lab and into the field to film a mini documentary showcasing their ground-breaking work.
The team are experts in understanding the risks posed to public health in the UK by insects. They monitor vector-borne diseases, which are infections spread by organisms like mosquitoes and ticks. These diseases account for over 17% of all infectious illnesses worldwide, including malaria, West Nile virus, dengue, yellow fever and Lyme disease.
