Okay, let's conclude this saga with some introspection. Was this issue ever really that important? Why? Are people too judgmental morally? Are people too reliant on parasocial interactions to support unhealthy worldviews? Or are people merely interacting naturally with the media that surrounds them, and (consciously and unconsciously) learning and developing social and political opinions through them?
