Can red light therapy replace sunlight? In this video, I break down the science behind sunlight, vitamin D, nitric oxide, circadian rhythm, and photobiomodulation to explain what red light therapy can and cannot replicate.
We examine why large-scale vitamin D supplementation studies failed to replicate many of the health benefits associated with sunlight exposure and explore the underlying biology of UVB, UVA, blue light, far infrared, red light, and near infrared light.
I also compare sunlight and red light therapy panels, including my own spectrometer measurements of sunlight’s red and near-infrared wavelengths in New Zealand and Dubai.
Below is the resources I mentioned in my "The Truth About Sunlight, Vitamin D & Red Light Therapy" video.
