With only 13 days left in May, it has proven to be a very rough month for scammers. Today was possibly the slowest day so far. I wasn't able to find many tech support scams today and many numbers that were shared today we subjected to heavy prank calls from other scambaiters. Many were already disconnected via abuse reports while others were ditched by the scammers due to the volume of prank calls they were getting.
You know a scammer has been plagued with prank calls all day when they answer the phone with a simple "Hello?", instead of the usual "thank you for calling support, this side...." - and all of that stupid crap. This was the case with the first call, a PayPal scammer who was clearly at the end of his rope by the time I called him. Just as I was about to call him a second time,
a PCH scammer gave me a call, which later proved to be a big mistake. At the end of the exchanges, the PCH scammer would also end up ditching his Text Now number in order to get away from Bob. The PayPal scammers had also lost their number after calling it back again.
Although I annoy the scammers to the point where they get rid of their numbers, the real reason they do that is because of the sheer volume of prank calls. Scammers still don't understand how we are able to find their numbers. What they fear isn't Bob but MANY other people calling in and wasting their time, non stop. If Bob has found them then that means other baiters will eventually find them as well and this is what they the fear most.
