On Aug. 20, 2016, an entire country held its breath. Now, 10 years after The Tragically Hip (@thetragicallyhip) took the stage at Kingston’s K-Rock Centre for the band's legendary last show, CBC is bringing back The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration, giving a chance for everyone to stand together in the front row once more.
What unfolded that night was pure magic: a raw, cathartic, 30-song set that saw Gord Downie, Paul Langlois, Rob Baker, Gord Sinclair and Johnny Fay pouring every ounce of heart onto the stage. From the electric opening chords of In a World Possessed by the Human Mind to Locked in the Trunk of a Car, the band delivered a masterclass in Canadian rock 'n' roll, with the unmissable hometown energy behind them the whole evening.
