When you press down the flusher, it pulls on a chain,
Which tugs on the plug and opens a drain!
The water in the tank drops down a hole,
Through a short wide pipe into the toilet bowl!

And that's what makes the toilet flush!
The water comes whooshing in a big loud rush,
And down through an S-shaped pipe, it flows,
So the stinky stuff all gets carried below! (Look at it go, whee!)

Now up in the tank when the water's all gone,
There's a float that drops to let a valve turn on!
When the tank gets full, then it floats to the top,
Where it closes the valve and makes the water stop!

Then it's ready for another good flush, you know!
Which is good, 'cause you'll need it when you gotta go!
It's a marvelous thing, but you gotta take care!
You can't just throw anything in there!

Don't flush an old sock or a baby wipe!
It'll make a big mess when it clogs the pipe!
But a little toilet paper is A-okay!
So when you're through you can safely flush it all away!
(And don't forget to wash your hands!)
