oh hey. hello. this is me talking about the time i tried pitching a cartoon. i didn't go suuuuuuper into detail about the experience just because i didn't want to risk accidentally breaking some NDA but i hope i explained everything well enough otherwise 👍
things i didn't mention: i also tried pitching another adaptation of a different book series (it was also fantasy, but it was young adult) and i went through SOOOOO much trouble trying to track down the adaptation rights to it. (i didn't have the purchase the rights, but it's good practice to make sure the rights are even available so you don't go through the whole pitching process for nothing, especially since in this case i knew the rights had been sold years and years ago.) anyway i got mega ghosted because i guess publishers don't like randos asking about film rights and it was just a whole thing.
