Chris Costner Sizemore (1927–2016), a young Southern housewife from Georgia who was treated for what was then called multiple personality disorder (now dissociative identity disorder). In the late 1940s/early 1950s, she sought help for severe headaches, blackouts, and memory gaps. Her psychiatrists, Corbett H. Thigpen and Hervey M. Cleckley, documented her case in their 1957 book.
