This is my interpretation of certain elements within the Remembrance of Earth’s Past Series. I do not claim to be an authority on China, Chinese politic, Chinese Science Fiction etc. My interpretation is based on my reading of these novels, my limited understanding of Chinese history and literature and through my lens as a westerner. None of my comments which could be perceived negatively are directed at the Chinese people, rather they are completely directed at the Chinese government. I have the deepest respect for the Chinese people and for Chinese Science Fiction writers and I deeply yurn for their personal freedoms from authoritarian control.
